Classic American checkers on a glossy wooden 8×8 board. Play the computer on Easy, Medium, or Hard, or a friend on the same device, with legal-move highlights, multi-jump chains, crowned kings, undo, and a win/loss/draw scoreboard saved on your device.
How to play
Black moves first; players alternate. Men move one square diagonally forward onto a dark square. Capture by jumping diagonally over an adjacent enemy piece into the empty square behind it, and keep jumping in the same turn while more jumps are available. With Forced capture on (the default), you must jump whenever you can. A man reaching the far row is crowned king, which ends the move; kings move and jump both forward and backward. You win when your opponent has no pieces or no legal moves. The game is a draw after 40 moves by each player without a capture, or when the same position occurs three times. Choose vs Computer (Easy, Medium, Hard, playing Black or Red) or 2 Players.
Controls
Tap or click a piece to see its legal moves, then tap a glowing square; or drag the piece onto the square. For multi-jumps with more than one route, tap each landing square in turn. Keyboard: Arrow keys move between squares, Enter or Space picks up and drops a piece, Esc cancels a selection, U undoes (a full turn against the computer). New game restarts with the same settings; Menu changes mode, difficulty, color, and forced capture.
Privacy and saves
Your settings and win/loss/draw scoreboard are saved only in this browser on this device. No account, score upload, or external server is used. Clearing browser data resets them.
