A relaxing mowing game where every pass through the tall grass pays. Mo the farmer has inherited an overgrown farm, and you drive his ride-on mower across it and watch a clean, freshly cut path open up behind you. Every patch you cut drops into your hopper, and when it is full you drive back to the barn and cash it all in at once. Spend the coins in the workshop on a wider blade, a faster engine, a bigger hopper and a better grass price, and the trips get shorter while the payouts get bigger. The farm is split into four fields around the yard. The meadow is open from the start, and the flower field, the golden wheat field and the glowing crystal grove each open when you stand on their lock pad and pour coins into it. Wheat and crystal grass are too tough for a starter blade, so Blade Power upgrades turn Mo's little red mower into a green tractor and then a giant combine harvester. Darker lush patches pay three times as much, and the grass slowly grows back behind you, so a field you cleared is never finished. Hire farmhands in the workshop and they drive their own blue mowers, cutting the nearest grass and selling it at the barn while you work elsewhere. Every farm level adds a farmhand slot, up to five, and from the second farm a hay truck can sell a full hopper wherever you are. Once every field is open, the Next Farm pad moves you to a fresh farm where all grass is worth four times more, and your crew comes with you.

How to play

Drive into the tall grass to cut it. Each cut patch fills your hopper, shown at the top of the screen and above your mower. When the hopper is full the mower stops cutting, so drive back to the yard and roll onto the orange SELL pad in front of the barn to turn the whole load into coins. Roll onto the blue UPGRADE pad at the workshop, or press the wrench button, to spend coins: Blade width cuts a wider path, Engine drives faster, Hopper carries more grass per trip, Blade power lets you cut wheat and then crystal grass, and Grass price raises what every patch is worth. Locked fields sit behind fences with a lock pad at their corner of the yard; park on the pad and your coins pour into it until the field opens. The workshop also hires farmhands: each one mows on its own, empties its hopper at the barn and pays you, and Farmhand training makes them carry more. You get one farmhand slot per farm level, up to five. From Farm 2 you can buy the hay truck, which sells your hopper the moment it fills at 80 percent of the price, so you never have to drive back. Lush, darker patches are worth three times as much. Cut grass grows back after about a minute, so you can keep mowing the same field. When all four fields are open, a purple Next Farm pad appears in the yard and moves you to a new farm where grass pays four times more. Your coins, upgrades, farmhands, open fields and farm number are saved in this browser.

Controls

WASD or the arrow keys drive the mower. With a mouse or touch screen, press anywhere and drag in the direction you want to go; the further you drag, the faster you drive. Drive onto a pad to use it. The wrench button opens the workshop, P pauses and M mutes.

Tips and strategy

  • Upgrade the hopper early. A bigger hopper means fewer trips back to the barn, and the trips are where your time goes.
  • Cut the lush, darker patches first: they pay three times as much as normal grass and fill the hopper with far more value.
  • Mow in long straight rows away from the yard and turn back when the hopper is nearly full, so the last stretch home is already cut.
  • Blade power is the key to the wheat field and the crystal grove; save up for it before buying more speed.
  • Hire your first farmhand as soon as you can afford it: it keeps mowing and selling while you push into a new field, and every farm level adds another slot.

Mow Valley FAQ

Why did my mower stop cutting?

Your hopper is full. The gauge over the mower turns red and says FULL; drive back onto the SELL pad in front of the barn to empty it, then head back out.

How do I open the other fields?

Each locked field has a lock pad at its corner of the yard. Park on it and your coins flow in until the price is paid, then the fence opens. You can pay a little at a time; the pad remembers what you've put in.

Why can I not cut the wheat or crystal grass?

They need a stronger blade. Buy Blade power in the workshop: level two cuts wheat and level three cuts the crystal grove, and each level upgrades your vehicle.

What languages can I play Mow Valley in?

English by default, plus Korean, Spanish, Hindi and Chinese. Pick a language with the buttons at the bottom of the title screen; the game remembers your choice in this browser.
