A roguelite idle tower defense game. A lone arcane spire stands in the middle of a forest clearing and fires at goblins, wolves, bats, ogres, skeleton archers and splitting slimes as they close in from every side. Coins from each kill buy three upgrades on the spot: Damage, Speed and Walls. Every cleared wave offers a choice of rune cards such as Split Bolt, Chain Lightning, Ember Orbs, Frost Rune and Reaper Rune, so each run builds into a different spire. Cast Frost Nova when the crowd gets close, and unlock Meteor and Thunderstorm in the Workshop. A Warlord boss arrives every tenth wave. When the spire falls, the run pays out crystals for permanent Workshop upgrades, and the spire keeps gathering crystals while you are away.

How to play

Your spire fires on its own at the nearest monster in range. Defeated monsters drop coins: spend them on Damage, Speed or Walls in the upgrade panel whenever you can afford one. When monsters crowd the spire, cast Frost Nova to freeze and hurt everything in range. After each cleared wave, pick one of three rune cards to shape your build. Every tenth wave brings a Warlord boss. When the spire falls you keep the crystals you earned; spend them in the Workshop on permanent upgrades and new spells, then defend again.

Controls

Click or tap the upgrade buttons and spell buttons. Keys: 1, 2 and 3 buy Damage, Speed and Walls (and pick runes on the rune screen), Q or Space casts Frost Nova, W casts Meteor, E casts Thunderstorm, F toggles 2x speed, P or Esc pauses.

Tips and strategy

  • Buy upgrades as soon as you can afford them: coins sitting in the bank do nothing, and the price of each upgrade climbs only when you buy it.
  • Save Frost Nova for the moment monsters reach the stone plaza. Frozen monsters cannot hit the spire, which buys your bolts a few free seconds.
  • Split Bolt and Chain Lightning pay off later, against the bigger waves, while Arcane Focus and Quickcast help most against the Warlord.
  • Skeleton archers stop at the edge of your range and shoot from there, so a Long Sight rune or Far Reach in the Workshop helps you reach them.
  • Even a run that ends early pays crystals for every wave you cleared, so Spire Power and Fortify in the Workshop are worth buying first.

Spire Siege FAQ

Do I keep anything when the spire falls in Spire Siege?

Yes. Every run pays out crystals based on the waves you cleared plus a bonus for each Warlord you defeated. Crystals buy permanent Workshop upgrades and unlock the Meteor and Thunderstorm spells for every future run.

Does Spire Siege earn anything while I am away?

Yes. After your first run, the spire gathers crystals while the game is closed, based on your best wave. Come back after at least 10 minutes to collect them; it stores up to 8 hours.

When does the Warlord boss appear?

A Warlord arrives on every tenth wave: 10, 20, 30 and so on. It is slow but very tough and hits hard, so it is the main wall a new spire runs into. Upgrading Damage and saving a spell for it helps.
